Advancements in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Liquid Silicone Rubber: A Scientometric Study

摘要

Carbon Fiber Reinforced Liquid Silicone Rubber (CF-LSR), a blend of carbon fibers in liquid silicone rubber, maintains its liquid state at room temperature, which simplifies the moulding process. The strength and light weight of carbon fibers enhance the mechanical characteristics of the LSR matrix. These composite materials are extensively utilized in aerospace, automotive, and medical fields due to their robustness, rigidity, and ability to withstand high temperatures. The cost of integrating carbon fibers is a significant barrier to their widespread adoption. Despite this financial hurdle, CF-LSR offers superior mechanical properties compared to pure silicone rubber, making it well-suited for challenging applications. Its lightweight, attributed to carbon fibers, results in a high strength-to-weight ratio, particularly advantageous in aerospace and automotive applications. Additionally, CF-LSR demonstrates impressive resistance to high temperatures, making it an excellent choice for use in environments with elevated temperatures. This article provides an overview of carbon fiber reinforced liquid silicone rubber literature from 2015 to 2023 using scientometric and network analysis processes on Scopus database records. The top authors and journals, the countries that contribute the most, changes in publishing years, keyword co-occurrence, growth trend analysis, and bibliographic coupling are all examined in this study. The findings of this investigation provide insight into the actual significance of the widely communicated research and its application. This review paper provides a clear overview of CF-LSR's applications and identifies promising areas for further exploration in this emerging field.
