Blockchain Technology Adoption in Manufacturing Industries—A Bibliometric Review Using VOSviewer

Blockchain technology is being used in various fields, especially in the financial sector where it supports digital currency and transactions. It has gained tremendous popularity in different domains. The objective of this paper is to examine the current research trends, main research themes, and leading authors, organizations, and countries on blockchain technology adoption in the manufacturing sector by using the bibliometric analysis method. This study analyses a large number of research articles by citation analysis using VOSviewer software. 182 research articles between 2017 and 2022 were extracted from the Scopus database and the results in the form of clusters of networks are presented. This paper provides a detailed analysis of citations of documents, authors, sources, organizations, and countries, that will help research scholars and practitioners to study the contributions of key authors, articles, publishers, organizations, and countries in this research domain, provides information on barriers in adoption as well as propose future research directions.
