摘要

Springback is generally treated as an elastically driven undesirable effect which causes dimensional inaccuracy during metal forming process. At today’s scenario, springback problem becomes more complicated in manufacturing industries due to the use of advanced material. Moreover, in recent time multi-layer sheets are in high demand in industrial application due to their combine superior properties and functions. Dimensional inaccuracy should be overcome by compensate or control the springback which can be possible by springback prediction. Many researchers developed the methodology to predict springback characteristic for single layer strip. Springback characteristics and behavior of layered strip is different than that of single layer strip and hence, methodology used for single layer strip is not satisfied when considered for layered strip. Besides to this, during deformation material parameters play a vital role and thus such material parameters must be considered during modeling of forming process. Therefore there is a real need of analytical model which can predict the springback behavior accurately especially for layered material while considering variation of Young’s modulus. Present paper deals with analytical modeling for springback prediction of high strength steel and its layered strip with and without considering change of Young’s modulus during bending process. Springback predicted results based on derived model are validated with published analytical/experimental results and found to be in good agreement.
