Recoverable Data Hiding in Encrypted Images Through Extent Reversing Before Inscription

摘要

Reversible data hiding (RDH) in encrypted images has received increasing attention recently because it preserves the excellent property that the original cover may be losslessly reconstructed when embedded data is extracted while maintaining the security of the image content. All earlier techniques embedded data by reversibly removing space from the encrypted images, which could lead to inaccuracies in the data extraction and picture restoration processes. In this work, suggest a novel approach that allows the data hider to embed data in the encrypted image reversibly by allocating space before encryption using a conventional RDH algorithm. Fundamental reversibility—error-free data extraction and image recovery—can be attained using the suggested approach. Tests reveal that this novel approach can incorporate payloads up to ten times larger than the preceding approaches, e.g., for PSNR = 40 dB, while maintaining the same image quality.
