摘要

Active noise cancellation is a technique used for adaptive filtering of noise. Besides noise, audio signal is also corrupted from signal reflections or reverberations. These reverberations may be very annoying and results in information loss from the audio signal. To overcome these reverberation passive techniques such as use of absorbing materials, designing anechoic chambers, adjustment of position of microphone/speakers, adjusting room dimensions to audio reflections etc., has been conventionally adopted. Active noise cancelation technique based on adaptive filtering can be one more feasible solution to this problem of reverberations. This research paper presents the application of active noise cancellation techniques for reducing reverberations and gives a comparative performance analysis of three adaptive algorithms on the basis of SNR and EVM for different reverberation conditions. Moreover, a novel approach of the implementation of pre filter and sign error algorithm to large signal reverberation chamber is also discussed.
