<p>This paper presents a comprehensive case study on the repair, rehabilitation, and retrofitting of a decades-old cargo berth at Deendayal Port to enhance cargo handling capacity. The study employed non-destructive and semi-destructive in-situ tests, laboratory experiments, and numerical modelling to assess the infrastructure's condition and capacity. Underwater sonar imaging was also conducted to assess the integrity of the concrete piles beneath the water. The analysis focused on determining the adequacy of structural dimensions for increased operational loading and implementing necessary retrofitting measures. The study highlights the practical challenges encountered during the assessment and retrofitting process, offering insights into addressing complex issues in the modernization of port infrastructure. A detailed in-situ structural diagnostics of the retrofitted cargo berths carried out and details are presented in this paper in order to achieve the desired performance improvements.</p>
