Exploring the Dual Hypolipidemic and Antioxidant Potential of Crude Curcumin in Rats
摘要
Turmeric (Curcuma longa) contains a yellow bioactive component called curcumin, which has drawn a lot of interest due to its remarkable anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits. Curcumin is investigated in a variety of biological contexts for its potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. The current animal clinical study aims to evaluate the bifocal activity (antioxidant and hypolipidemic) of crude curcumin extract in Wister rats based on specific components (total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, malondialdehyde, serum catalase activity and superoxide dismutase activity) and their relative significance in physiological changes. The animal (Wister Rats) were divided in 4 groups. Antioxidant parameters (0.50 µ mole/ml malondialdehyde, 0.59 U/ml catalase activity, 78.66 U/ml superoxide dismutase activity) and reduction of 25.98% triglycerides, 6.16%, LDL, 8.81% cholesterol and 12.15% HDL elevation are highlighted as an advantage to project antioxidant and hypolipidemic potential. Crude curcumin treatment reflected the antioxidant and antihyperlipidemic potential of crude curcumin extract as a food-grade supplementary ingredient.
