A Comprehensive Study of Conventional and Modern Salmonella Detection Methods in Street Food

Street food is a unique and popular food source across the globe, specifically in developing countries, where it also serves as a good source of income. However, the lack of hygiene practices by the street vendors poses a high risk of foodborne illness. Being the major culprit of foodborne illness, Salmonella remains a significant health concern worldwide. Effective detection methods are crucial for identifying food sources containing Salmonella for controlling the outbreaks. This review comprehensively compares and analyses different methods employed for the identification of Salmonella, from conventional methods to the most advanced methods.
