<p>An earthworm sampling was carried out in Kalyana- Karnataka Province of Karnataka State of India which comprises of seven districts viz., Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari and Vijayanagar. About 84 sites have been selected along these districts to collect the earthworm fauna. A&#xa0;total of 29 earthworm&#xa0;species have been identified under 2 orders, 6 families and 11 genera. Among these, there were three categories classified based on Endemic (<i>n</i> = 22) and Exotic species (<i>n</i> = 7). Multivariate analyses viz<i>.,</i> principal component analysis (PCA), metric multidimensional scaling (MDS), Bray–Curtis Cluster analysis and Mondrian plot were carried out to assess the distribution of earthworm fauna and the most influenced species (<i>Octochaetona parva</i> followed by <i>Eudichogaster ashworthi</i> and <i>Perionyx sansibaricus</i>). pH of the habitat soil of the earthworms varied from acidic to alkaline i.e., from 6.8 to 9.1. Assemblage was common among the species with 25 diverse body colour patterns being paler in the acidic region and darker in the alkaline region.</p>
