Genomic Approaches: an Effective Approach to Determine the Biosynthetic Genes in Actinobacteria
摘要
Genomics is the science that investigates the entire organism’s DNA. This has made remarkable strides, influencing our understanding of genomes. This article offers a thorough overview of genomics, outlining its historical progression and branches, including structural, functional, comparative, and mutational genomics. It focuses on genomic analysis techniques and their implications. The purpose of this article is to offer readers a thorough understanding of genomics, genomic analysis methods, and their implications. It covers next-generation sequencing mechanisms, such as sequencing by synthesis, hybridization, pyrosequencing, Ion Torrent, and Illumina technologies, as well as third-generation sequencing technologies, such as Pacific Biosciences and Oxford Nanopore Technologies, emphasizing the advantages, drawbacks, and implications of each. This article discusses how these technologies are used in drug development. Finally, we provide an example of how these technologies can be applied to the Actinobacterial genome, discovering their biosynthetic gene clusters and utilizing their metabolites in drug development. Genomics and the methods used for its analysis have fundamentally changed the perception of genomes. Microbes are an extraordinary source of powerful natural chemicals. These natural substances have been uncovered by genome mining and have been used in the development of drugs such as antibiotics. Genomic analysis technology has sped up pharmaceutical research and the development of innovative therapies. Continued progress in genomics holds promise for discovering biosynthetic pathways and identifying novel drugs that can address complicated illnesses. Future research should explore the potential of genome mining in greater detail and make use of advanced methods to unleash the enormous potential of natural chemicals for medical use.
