Maintainability and Availability of Multi-State Degraded System (MSDS) with the Imperfect Repair and Degradation

The degraded machining system having repair provisioning is investigated by developing Markov reliability model. The deteriorated stages are categorized as discrete states; the first state being the fully functional stage and the last stage being the completely failed state. By repair, the degraded system can be restored to a fully functional state. The preventive maintenance policy is proposed under the realistic features of system degradation at multi-levels. The repair may not be perfect while restoring the failed system. The realistic features of imperfect minimal repair and imperfect preventive maintenance under delayed repair have been incorporated. Using system state probabilities, the numerical results for indices are derived analytically in explicit form. Numerical simulation results are compared with the computational results obtained via Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Interface System (ANFIS).
