<p><i>Bonnaya sanpabloensis</i> is documented for the first time from Northeastern India. In India, the species has been reported exclusively from Maharashtra to date (Sardesai et al., 2019). On study of the type specimens, herbarium specimens and relevant literature, we found that the taxon not reported from the northeastern part of India so far. Hence, we are reporting the taxon as a new distributional record for the flora of northeastern India. A detailed description, photographic images, taxonomic note and key is provided for easy and quick identification in the field.</p>
