<p>Jammu and Kashmir is a crucial part of the Himalayan biodiversity hotspot which boasts a varied range of fauna that deserves prompt scientific documentation. This paper presents the first record of <i>Daphnia lumholtzi</i> Sars, 1885 from Jammu &amp; Kashmir. A brief morphology of the species (both female and male) is provided in this paper along with illustrations. <i>Daphnia lumholtzi</i> was observed in low nutrient conditions in Kukrian Wetland Reserve of J&amp;K. This finding extends the distributional range of <i>D. lumholtzi</i> in India.</p>

摘要
