摘要

The current communication adds Wedge Sea Hare, Dolabella auricularia, as a new record to the Heterobranch sea slugs’ diversity of the state Andhra Pradesh. The specimen was collected from a coral reef ecosystem off Chintapalli during an underwater survey focused for the study of coral reef associated fauna along Andhra Pradesh coast. This species can be recognized by the presence of a small, flat disk at the posterior end of its body, featuring a distinct chopped-out shape. It primarily inhabits coral reefs and sandy bottom areas, which are exclusively marine environments. This report marks the second state record following the report from Tamil Nadu and includes a description of the collected specimen along with the distribution of D. auricularia from other regions.
