<p>The present study recorded <i>Polygala cardiocarpa</i> Kurz, for the first time from India. The plant was found growing on rocks and boulders in Reiek peak of Mizoram, Northeast India. The species was identified and confirmed by comparing with herbarium records and taxonomic literature. This finding represents a new distributional record and a new addition to the Indian flora, thereby extending the known global range of the species. A detailed taxonomic description and photographic documentation are provided.</p>
