An SRGM with a Gompertz TEF Subject to Uncertain Operating Environment

The development of dependable software has been a challenging task due to the significant complexity of software that has evolved over the past few decades. Software reliability is crucial because software errors can result in significant societal or financial damages. Many of the models now in use make the common assumption that the operating environment and the development environment are distinct. In this study, we create a new SRGM that takes the Gompertz testing effort function into account along with the uncertainty of the field environment. Illustrative examples are provided to demonstrate the adequacy of the proposed model in comparison to several current SRG models. The evaluation is based on a collected data set of failures from software applications. Our suggested model’s effectiveness and applicability will be evaluated using actual software failure data.
