<p>The present study reports the occurrence of Lachners tongue sole, <i>Cynoglossus lachneri</i> Menon, 1977 from the south eastern Arabian Sea for the first time. Previous reports of this species in the Arabian Sea were from Mumbai (North Eastern Arabian Sea). A total of three specimens of <i>Cynoglossus lachneri</i> were obtained from Kalamukku Fishing Harbour, Cochin, Kerala, India on December, 2024 and compared with the paratype specimens (F 6207/2, F 6208/2, F 6209/2) submitted in the Zoological Survey of India Museum, Kolkata, India. The otolith and scales of the specimen were provided for the accurate identification of the species for the first time.</p>
