<p>Roving and fixed plot surveys were conducted during 2020–2024 to study the abundance and population dynamics of weaver ants, <i>Oecophylla smaragdina</i> in mango orchards of Mohali, Bathinda, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar districts of Punjab and Yadvendra Gardens, Pinjore in Haryana. The maximum activity of ants on mango trees was observed during April–June months, whereas it was marginal to minimal during October–December months. The nesting percentage and Offenberg index of <i>O. smaragdina</i> on mango were maximum during May (22.0 and 42.6%), June (20.3 and 39.8%) and April (18.6 and 35.5%), respectively. The workers of <i>O. smaragdina</i> were involved in chain formation process and other castes do the nest formation duties. The weaver ants were observed causing nuisance to the orchardists while performing several cultural and management practices like training, pruning and harvesting etc.</p>
