<p>Localized flare-ups of the banana skipper, <i>Erionota torus</i> Evans (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae), in some pockets of Tiruchirappalli District, Tamil Nadu, during February–March 2023, were contained by the early larval parasitoid, <i>Elasmus brevicornis</i> Gahan (Hymenoptera: Chalcidoidea: Eulophidae), with parasitism levels as high as 90%. Brief illustrated notes on the life stages and biology of <i>E. brevicornis</i> on <i>E. torus</i> are provided for the first time. In the laboratory, <i>E. brevicornis</i> preferred the II-III instar larvae of <i>E. torus</i> for oviposition and the eggs hatched within a day. The combined duration of the three larval instars was 2–3&#xa0;days and the pupal period lasted 4–5&#xa0;days. The life cycle of <i>E. brevicornis</i> from egg to adult emergence took 7–8&#xa0;days and the sex ratio was highly female-biased (5:1–6:1). A pupal hyperparasitoid, <i>Pediobius</i> sp. (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae), was recorded on <i>E. brevicornis.</i></p>
