摘要

Fusarium foetens belonging to the phylum Ascomycota, comprises of over 100 species. To date, no pigmented species of this genus have been reported in the Jalandhar region of Punjab. This study confirms the identification of Fusarium foetens CBS 110,286 as the first report in Jalandhar. The isolated pigmented fungus was sourced from soil at the Jalandhar Cantt railway station. Identification involved morphological examinations and DNA sequencing, with generated gene sequences compared to similar organisms in the GenBank database using the BLAST tool.
