Aquatic Mycobiomes as Emerging Bioresources of Novel Bioactive Compounds for Drug Discovery
摘要
The demand for the natural products to combat antimicrobial resistance as well as many deadly diseases has increased. Aquatic environments harbor a vast diversity of endophytic microbial communities. Aquatic environments have been explored for endophytic fungal diversity and their natural products of pharmaceutical importance. Endophytic aquatic fungi are an important bioresources of secondary metabolites with bioactive potential. These fungi produce bioactive natural products with antiviral, antibacterial, anticancer, anti-obesity and many more activities. The present view may help in understanding diversity of aquatic endophytic fungal communities and their potent bioactive metabolites for developing new drugs and combating diseases.
