Finite Element Analysis of Musculoskeletal Stress in Indian School Students
摘要
This study examines the musculoskeletal stress that the Indian school students undergo by lifting their schoolbags, distributing load using FEA. Ergonomic study to find the Musculoskeletal Disorders and collection of anthropometric data revealed that 100% of sampled students carried schoolbags exceeding 10% of their body weight. Joint stress analysis using FEA showed that the major stress exertion was felt on the shoulder and knee while walking. Such studies call for ergonomic changes in features of schoolbags to reduce physical stress.
