<p>This study documents the first report of <i>Nerocila sigani</i>, a parasitic isopod from west coast of India, collected from <i>Gerres filamentosus</i> at Karanja Jetty in Mumbai. <i>N</i>. <i>sigani</i>, identified by its unique body structure and coloration, was found attached to the caudal peduncle of the host fish. All the morpho-meristic characteristics have been taken meticulously. These findings broaden the known range of <i>N. sigani</i>, which has been previously reported from Tamil Nadu and Odisha coast along eastern coastal region of the country. The documentation of <i>N. sigani</i> parasitizing <i>Gerres filamentosus</i> highlights the need to continue monitoring parasitic isopods to understand their ecological impact and implications for fisheries management. Further research is essential to assess host specificity, infection dynamics, and environmental factors influencing the distribution of these parasites.</p>
