Record of Two Endangered Tree Species Bischofia Javanica Blume (Phyllanthaceae) and Machilus Gamblei King Ex Hook.f. (Lauraceae) from Billawar Forests in Jammu Province

Bischofia javanica Blume (Phyllanthaceae) and Machilus gamblei King ex Hook.f. (Lauraceae), the two endangered tree species were collected for the first time from Billawar forests of Kathua district in Jammu province, Jammu and Kashmir. Both these species are important source of medicine, timber, fibre and fodder. Taxonomic descriptions of both the species along with photographic plates are provided for their easy identification.
