摘要

This study examines the role of Pedagogical Quality Consultants (PQC) for preschools regarding the use of digital media for language education. In view of the increasing integration of digital media into early childhood education and the associated demands on professionals, the present study analyses how the characteristics of PQCs (beliefs, self-efficacy, collaboration and professional self-image) correlate with the frequency with which digital media is addressed in consulting practice. To this end, data from 77 PQCs who support 1091 preschools were analysed. The analyses indicate PQCs who are convinced of the benefits of digital media and have higher self-efficacy expectations discuss this topic more frequently with daycare centres. Exchanges with other PQCs on the topic of digitalisation and a clear professional self-image appear to be relevant for advisory practice. The findings indicate that less than a third of PQCs have participated in training courses on the use of digital media in language education. The study emphasises the importance of providing support for PQCs through the provision of targeted training opportunities, and the promotion of intercollegiate exchange on digital media. These measures have the potential to enhance the quality of education and language support in preschools.
