<p>Through the WGSPlus project, Schluchseewerk AG is modernising its Schluchsee pumped storage cascade plants to contribute to the success of the energy transition. The aim is to continue using the existing plants efficiently while significantly increasing their flexibility and output. The HäusernPlus sub-project demonstrates how the existing plant can be expanded with a new shaft power plant. Taking maximum account of the existing infrastructure and minimising environmental impact, a pumped storage power plant that can integrate additional renewable energy sources is being created.</p>
