<p>This article focuses on the technical aspects of applying video monitoring systems for the performance assessment of upstream fish passages. Various installation methods, as well as the associated technical challenges and solutions, are presented and discussed. This will allow for the planning and construction of monitoring systems to comply with site-specific dimensioning requirements, ensuring that fish are not negatively affected in their migratory behavior and can be effectively recorded.</p>
