Talsperren - Essenziell für die Minderung der Klimawandelfolgen
摘要
In this article, the importance of dams and water reservoirs is considered in the context of climate change and the increasing global demand for water. The discrepancy between water demand and available storage capacity is growing due to climate change, population growth and declining freshwater supplies. Many large dams around the world are over 50 years old, which raises concerns about both their stability and sedimentation of the reservoir volume. Reservoir sedimentation is a growing problem worldwide. Without sustainable measures, many reservoirs will be up to 50% filled up on average by 2050. Sustainable water management and measures to reduce reservoir sedimentation are essential in view of the growing global demand for water storage.
