Talsperren im Wandel der Zeit
摘要
At the end of the 19th century, Otto Intze was mainly responsible for the start of dam construction in Germany. The oldest dams which were built of stones as gravity dams are now over 100 years old. Over time, shifts in the individual water management utilisations occur. To achieve a better acceptance of the effectiveness of dams in public discussions is still a problem. Therefore, a simple number based on the ratio of the dam volume at maximum water level to the total catchment area to estimate the effectiveness of dams is proposed to make the benefits, but also the limits of the effectiveness of dams clear.
