摘要

Injury and survival to the fish species chub (Squalius cephalus), nase (Chondrostoma nasus) and grayling (Thymallus thymallus) during passage through Kaplan turbines was estimated using HI-Z Tag techniques at two medium-sized run-of-river hydropower plants. Survival rates (48 h) of juvenile fish were between 87 % and 94 % and for adult fish were between 75 % and 90 %. In addition, the number of individuals injured or affected by loss of equilibrium was species-specific. The lower mortality at the Mur power plant compared to the Drau power plant can plausibly be explained by a lower number of turbine blades (four instead of five), a lower hydraulic head and a slightly slower turbine runner speed.
