<p>With the new German TrinkwEGV (Drinking Water Ordinance), the implementation of a hazard and risk analysis for catchment areas of drinking water reservoirs is mandatory. Beyond the mere fulfillment of the obligation, systematic implementation offers the operator the opportunity to determine the vulnerability of the catchment area on an area-specific basis, to compile the basis for risk and catchment area management on a data basis and to establish transparent knowledge management.</p>
