摘要

The safety of dams is determined by several natural loads. Therefore, it is difficult to convert them into generally valid design values because the observation series are often too short and changes are also expected during the comparatively long service life of the systems. In order to ensure a high level of safety of the plants, special considerations and measures are required for normal operation and for load situations beyond the design assumptions. Some of them are presented and discussed in this paper.
