Fischschutzmaßnahmen am Neckarkraftwerk Hirschhorn

For big hydro power plants there is no state of scientific and technical knowledge so far. At one of the biggest hydro power plants at the river Neckar, the power plant Hirschhorn, the operator Neckar AG stroke a new path for the fish protections. Therefore one of the two existing turbines was modified into a so called fishfriendly turbine, an electrical barrier was installed in the intake of the hydro power plant and a complex fish monitoring was executed. The last one was to survey the effects of the fishfriendly turbine and the barrier and to analyze the differences to the existing situation.
