From the initial idea to the technical model, the article describes the origins and the individual development phases of the Spiral Fish Pass. Designed as a fish pass for both upstream and downstream migration, the Spiral Fish Pass has a small installed area due to its spiral design. Its modular construction from prefabricated parts has economic advantages and enables rapid assembly on site. The special cross section of the fish pass channel fulfils all migration corridor requirements with relatively low flow rates.
