摘要

In alpine waters, sediment transport processes represent the dominant factor influencing their morphological and ecological condition. From their source in the uppermost regions, alpine waters feed lower-lying mountain and lowland rivers with solids. Since the foundation of the Austrian Service for Torrent and Avalanche Control in 1884 [1], management concepts have been developed. However, modifications at the local level are increasingly being replaced by adaptations based on integral monitoring concepts, with the development of comprehensive management concepts.
