摘要

Dam safety is a very important issue due to the immense risks to people, property and loss of use in the case of dam failure. Despite high safety standards and adequate dimensioning, an extremely small but nevertheless real failure probability remains. This risk of cascading dams can be greater than of single dams due to the larger volume of water and the possible domino effect. For this reason, this chain reaction of a possible failure should always be considered for systems arranged in a row. This article presents such an investigation using the example of the Tana River in Kenya.
