Recording the adjacent uplift pressure is essential for assessing the stability of a dam. There were 22 automated uplift pressure measuring points at the Carlsfeld dam, whose sensors worked on the vibrating wire principle and were installed in a lost position. Many of these measuring points were not easily accessible for manual measurements, which meant that some of the automatically recorded measured values could only be validated rarely or not at all. This situation called for action and led to the entire uplift pressure measurement system being redesigned or reconstructed in accordance with the generally recognized rules of technology. This article will report on the planning and implementation in the years 2021 to 2022 as well as special features.
