摘要

There is no standardised assessment tool for a comprehensive inspection of water detention structures and safety, leading to increased subjectivity in the execution of the inspection. This article proposes a new assessment system (especially suitable for solid and steel construction) for the main inspection of water detention structures based on the bridge inspection according to DIN 1 076. The aim is to create a standardized method for a reliable assessment of these structures, forming the basis for targeted maintenance and servicing. The new assessment system includes the collection and evaluation of damages. Assessing these generates grades for the individual damage, the building components, and the entire structure. Continuous updating of the data provides an insight into the building's condition over its lifetime. Using two examples the procedure of this new system is demonstrated. The authors' experience shows that the developed assessment system is a reliable and standardized method for the main inspection of structures. It enables a fast and effective assessment and provides a consistent basis for targeted maintenance and servicing. However, to successfully implement the new assessment system throughout Germany, the authors believe that further structures and programs are needed to simplify recording and evaluation.
