Multisensorische Stimulation und psychische Gesundheit – „Anima Mentis“ ein evidenzbasiertes Praxisprojekt
摘要
Mental health is an essential component of general health and preventive measures to maintain and promote this component of health have become increasingly more important in recent decades. In Europe depression is the single most important contributor to mental health problems. The high prevalence and particularly high burden of disease of depression justify a great interest in effective prevention measures for the general population that start early and offer low-threshold and individual access.
AimThe aim of this article is to provide an overview of the development and structure of the evidence-based intervention program “Anima Mentis” for the promotion of mental health and the prevention of mental illness.
ResultBased on a narrative literature review to identify evidence-based interventions, findings on monosensory and multisensory stimulation to reduce depressive symptoms and promote mental well-being were transferred to the “Anima Mentis” program. This modular program is implemented in a treatment center with various room concepts, such as a movement room, light room, virtual reality (VR) room, nature 360° cinema and sensory room.
ConclusionThe “Anima Mentis” practical project pursues a personalized approach to promoting mental health. This concept offers the potential to be integrated into various healthcare organizations, such as workplace health promotion. Future research is needed to expand the evidence base on multisensory stimulation and gain insights into specific user groups, particularly in a preventive context.
