Dynamic learning, trust, and leadership for strengthening environmental resilience in social-ecological systems: policy insights from Iran
摘要
This study explores how dynamic learning, leadership, and trust shape resilience in Iran’s social-ecological systems, emphasizing implications for environmental sustainability. Drawing on in-depth interviews with 15 policy and agricultural experts from the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Discernment Council, the findings reveal that adaptive learning spaces, knowledge-based and participatory leadership, and trust-driven collaboration are pivotal for strengthening agricultural resilience. These mechanisms foster ecological awareness, innovation, and the integration of indigenous and scientific knowledge. The study identifies three core pathways: (1) cultivating continuous learning and adaptive capacity; (2) empowering local leadership and community-based decision-making; and (3) embedding environmental stewardship in governance and policy frameworks. By aligning resilience thinking with agricultural policy, the research provides actionable insights for enhancing sustainable productivity, resource conservation, and socio-ecological stability in Iran.
