<p>Damage to peatlands causes changes in land use from carbon stores to carbon emitters. This damage is caused by human activities or the community’s low environmental literacy on peatlands. This condition must be corrected immediately, and peatlands must be immediately conserved. This constant comparative ground theory research with coding techniques (open, axial, selective) was conducted to answer research questions on potentials that can be used as models of peatland conservation. The research was conducted in Sebangau, Palangka Raya City Central Borneo, as an area of ​​the peatlands. Transcripts of interviews, observations, and documentation of universities, schools, and communities related to peatland conservation in February–August 2020 were processed with the help of the Nvivo12 Plus software. Potentials in peatland conservation were found, namely universities, schools, communities, and science learning, but these potentials are still separate. The peatland conservation activities that have been carried out are still not optimal and sustainable and are still temporary. Meta-analysis of the literature shows a pattern for connecting the three conservation components: Interdisciplinary science learning. Interdisciplinary science learning as the implementation of education for sustainable development aims to improve environmental literacy and shape students’ students’ sustainable development competencies. Conservation activities by communities, universities, and schools through interdisciplinary science learning to form environmental literacy on peatlands are mitigation for climate change. Humanity must step up efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions and prepare humanity for future crises.</p>
