Effect of the angle of inclination on the energy performance of photovoltaic panels in the city of Arequipa
摘要
In the present work, the irradiance exerted on an inclined surface for the city of Arequipa was estimated using radiation data taken from the meteorological station located at the Technological University of Peru, located at coordinates (− 16.408221, − 71.542191). The angles with best harnessed solar radiation were estimated in operating conditions during peak solar hours on a monthly basis using the Liu and Jordan mathematical model, obtaining an annual average with a fixed position. As a result, it was found that the angle with the best annual performance represents a value of 14.36°, which, compared to those currently used in other facilities, can generate a considerable increase in the energy capacity produced annually, comparing favorably with the local electricity supplier’s rates by producing a calculated saving per square meter of $0.98 when going from an angle of 0° to 14.36° and $1.38 when going from an angle of 35° to 14.36°.
