Co-pyrolysis of sewage sludge and organic components of rural household waste: Process and gas products

摘要

The introduction of organic pyrolytic rural household waste (RHW) into the sewage sludge (SS) pyrolysis can effectively improve the gas products. This study aimed to reveal the synergistic effects on thermal decomposition and pyrolysis gas products by comparing the thermal characteristics from the co-pyrolysis of SS with various organic components of RHW. The results showed that compared with SS pyrolysis alone, co-pyrolysis of SS with various organic components of RHW lead to a higher derivative weight increased from 1.4 to 17.5%/min and more COx and CHm gas yielded and accounted for the mos. Meanwhile, the pilot-scale tests of co-pyrolysis were conducted by monitoring the temperature distribution, pyrolysis gas composition and ash characteristics. The results indicated that CH4 and CO produced by 372.5 and 314.2 Nm3/Tons of material respectively. Otherwise, the ash generated from the oxidized of solid carbon residue (biochar) can be a great cement clinker materials because of high inorganic material content (92.5%) and low ignition loss (3.5%). In addition, the amount of total heavy metals in the ash only 1.8% benefited to lower the total heavy metals activity.
