Purpose of Review <p>This study examines thematic evolution in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) research from 2000 to 2023. Through a comprehensive co-word analysis of 41,824 articles published in the top ten OBGYN journals, we identify key research areas, emerging trends, and the shifting intellectual landscape over three distinct periods: 2000–2007, 2008–2015, and 2016–2023.</p> Recent Findings <p>Thematic analyses identify the progression of research focus from assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and molecular mechanisms of endometriosis to the integration of genetic screening, precision medicine, and public health perspectives. Recent research trends include the impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy outcomes, aspirin as a prophylactic for preeclampsia, and advancements in frozen embryo transfer techniques.</p> Summary <p>Over the past two decades, OBGYN research has undergone significant thematic shifts, expanding from ART-focused studies to broader investigations incorporating genetic, public health, and precision medicine approaches. While research of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and pregnancy outcomes remains central, emerging trends reflect increasing interdisciplinary collaborations and technological advancements. Future directions should emphasize sustainable funding for clinician-scientists, continued innovation in reproductive medicine, and deeper integration of genomic and personalized healthcare strategies to enhance maternal and fetal health outcomes.</p>

Purpose of Review

This study examines thematic evolution in obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) research from 2000 to 2023. Through a comprehensive co-word analysis of 41,824 articles published in the top ten OBGYN journals, we identify key research areas, emerging trends, and the shifting intellectual landscape over three distinct periods: 2000–2007, 2008–2015, and 2016–2023.
