摘要

This article aims at a detailed investigation into the thermal parameters impacting the microstructure and mechanical properties of ductile cast iron, mainly focusing on cooling rates. The study considered two cases: the effects of fast and moderate cooling rates during the casting of ductile cast iron within the eutectic transition range. The primary objective is to analyze how these cooling rates influence graphite nodular properties and subsequently affect mechanical properties. We provide a systematic analysis of quantitative nodular properties through ImageJ, including nodularity, nodule size, and nodule counts. Further, we elucidate the intricate relationship between cooling rates, microstructure, and mechanical properties. The results and analysis give useful information for improving the nodular properties of ductile cast iron, which helps to learn more about how temperature affects its mechanical behavior.
