Strategies like hypofractionation in radiotherapy and alternative follow-up methods, such as urine testing for bladder cancer, can reduce hospital visits while improving healthcare capacity. A&#xa0;reduction in the number of hospital visits by patients has a&#xa0;positive environmental impact and results in increased healthcare capacity. New systemic therapies for renal- and bladder cancer, such as immunotherapy, demonstrated improved patient survival in studies. However, this survival benefit is less prominent in daily practice. Therefore, it is imperative to critically evaluate how studies were conducted. Patients should have access to medicines proven to be effective, with limited side-effects and costs. This sometimes means refraining from adopting new therapies, and using existing treatments more rationally. Studies are currently being conducted to determine how available systemic therapies can be used more efficiently and effectively. Alongside optimizing scarce healthcare resources, prevention plays a&#xa0;vital role, with an emphasis on smoking cessation and promoting a&#xa0;healthy lifestyle. By adopting efficient and sustainable practices, we can safeguard the accessibility and sustainability of healthcare for the future.</p>
