Case report. Fungal balls, een zeldzame oorzaak van urosepsis

This case report describes a patient with a rare cause of urosepsis, fungal balls. After initial treatment with oral antifungal therapy was not sufficient, therapy was extended with intra-ureteral and intravesical antifungal therapy with amphotericin B instillation and after that anidulafungin instillation. Eventually surgical treatment was necessary: robotic pyelo- and cystotomy. The fungal balls were successfully and completely removed.
