<p>Breast cancer is most prevalent cancer among women causing high mortality and morbidity. Conventional therapeutic approaches possess significant challenges such as high cost and potential side effects. Alternatively, herbal combinations with dietary products have been proved to exert promising anti-cancer properties due to safety and less toxicity. In this study, the herbal combinations of <i>Curcuma longa</i> L<i>.</i> (Turmeric), <i>Zingiber officinale</i> Roscoe (Ginger), and <i>Origanum vulgare</i> L<i>.</i> (Oregano) extracts in modified diets were tested against the mammary carcinoma induced by 7,12-Dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA) in Sprague-Dawley rats for 14&#xa0;weeks. Following tumor induction, evaluation of body weights, tumor related parameters along with histopathological investigations of mammary tissues were performed. Results indicated the turmeric, ginger, and oregano extracts showed normal body weight gain after DMBA induction. While significant decreases in tumor parameters such as tumor volume (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), weight (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), burden (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001), incidence (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.01), and increase in latency (<i>p</i> &lt; 0.001) were observed upon comparing with DMBA group. Moreover, histopathological analysis revealed the typical mammary tissue structures with reduced cell proliferation which suggest the synergistic effect of these compounds to inhibit the tumor progression in chemically induced mammary carcinoma. In conclusion, the modified diets supplemented with turmeric, ginger and oregano proved successful to impart anti-tumor effects against breast cancer.</p> Graphical Abstract <p></p>
