<p>The article demonstrates how various types of Gd<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, SiO<sub>2</sub>, and CeO<sub>2</sub> nanopowders affect the diffuse reflectance spectra of CaSiO<sub>3</sub> micropowder in the course of the latter’s modification (0.5–10 wt%). It has been established that upon modification the reflectance of CaSiO<sub>3</sub> micropowder decreases within 200 to 700&#xa0;nm and increases up to 2500&#xa0;nm in a longer wavelength area whereas the bandgap width decreases. An explanation to the established patterns has been provided. These results might be of practical and theoretical relevance for the development of new highly reflective coatings and materials based on various nanoparticle-modified micropowders.</p>
