Design of Phononic Crystal Ring Resonator-Based Acoustic 2 × 1/4 × 1 Multiplexer and 1 × 2/1 × 4 Demultiplexer

The design of acoustic multiplexer and demultiplexer circuits using ring resonator cavity on mercury-water phononic crystal platform is proposed in the present paper. We investigate the transmission spectra and pressure distribution for different orders of multiplexer and demultiplexers of the proposed structures. The design of acoustic 2:1/4:1 multiplexer and 1:2/1:4 demultiplexer is numerically investigated in Comsol Multiphysics platform. The design could play a crucial role in phononic integrated circuits that are used in underwater and medical applications.
